Stay Dead Game

Since I first met the team at Animagic responsible for the production of Stay Dead, I have ended up becoming their main play tester, dev log narrator, and community voice. I also occasionally concept characters and mechanics.

I playtest the demos extensively, recording my thoughts on environments, music, mechanics, level design, character designs, colors, and overall player experience. I provided feedback on how elements felt, what I expected them to do before interacting with them, and suggestions for improving visual clarity, mechanics, and how existing mechanics could be expanded into other areas.

I also focused heavily on finding and investigating bugs and glitches. My programming experience helped me identify potential problem areas and make educated assumptions about how systems were implemented. When I found bugs, I worked to reproduce them, isolate the cause, and determine the specific sequence of actions that triggered them. I also tested performance issues such as frame drops by isolating areas and identifying potential causes.

During testing, I timestamped important feedback, ideas, bugs, reproductions, and discoveries. I also used input capture software in recordings so developers could see exactly what inputs I was making when issues occurred.
